Reviews:
“This Moscatel Wine has flavors that are reminiscent of
the Moscatels from Setubal. It’s a rich wine that shows a hint of the spirit
element, but the ripe flavors of toffee and raisin ice cream are more
prominent. Drink now.” 88 pts – Roger Voss 21112012

About the grapes:
Moscatel Roxo (roxo means purple in Portuguese). The wines produced with this grape varietal present an
elevated level of sweetness; they are very aromatic and persistent in flavor.
Its clusters are small and compact, with round, pinkish
berries that have an extreme sweetness. This grape varietal, like the Moscatel
de Setúbal, has a rich aromatic profile and contributes unequivocally to the
aroma and flavor of the wine it produces.
Compared with other wines of the Moscatel grape variety,
this fortified wine has a drier and more complex aroma but no less rich.
When tasting, it exceeds expectations created by the
aroma palate, displaying a very fine highlight of spices, cherries and fig
compote.
Harvest
Selective and manual Harvest in 20 kg boxes. Total
stripping followed by bleeding with spontaneous fermentation at 12ºC in order
to keep all the aromatic potential.
The Vineyards
The vineyards are planted in deep soil of schist origin
and clay-limestone, dry on the surface and rich in water the transition to the
underground. Equipped with drop-by-drop irrigation, to control the level of
water stress, the vineyards have driven systems that guarantee sun exposure and
aeration necessary for more balanced maturation and high quality grapes based
on a selection of the best regional, national and International grapes
varieties.
