The Belgian white beer

What nobler distinction could there be for this tasty wheat beer with its pleasant fruity flavour and rich foam than to bear the name of one our most illustrious forebears?

Blanche de Brabant, who lived in the 12th century, belonged to the French royal dynasty. Left to govern the country during the Seventh Crusade, and concerned both about the fate of the men who had gone to fight the infidel in the Holy Land and about the well-being of those who had stayed at home, among other measures she issued numerous edicts to encourage the cultivation of wheat.

So it was that Blanche de Brabant was created, the Belgian wheat beer with added coriander seed and orange zest.

This beer is brewed from the finest ingredients, including wheat, as is typical for the best Belgian white beers.

A touch of coriander gives it a subtle acidity. Blanche de Brabant tastes even better with a touch of lemon.

Brewing

Geneviève de Brabant beers are brewed in Belgium, using a traditional method that requires great care and skill.

The beer is composed of more than 90% water – the selected water is critical for a quality product. Due to its geographical origins, Genèvieve de Brabant beer is made from extremely pure water. It is in Genval, in the heart of Brabant Ardennes that the source Bonne Fontaine flows. For more than a century, this thermal water has been recognized for its beneficial properties.

The grains used in the brew are also of great importance, coming mainly from the surrounding fertile land. Wheat, barley and malt are carefully selected by small local producers who value quality.

Some spices such as orange peel and coriander are used sparingly to give Brabant beers their uniqueness.
