Tejo Region is a province of fertile plains and gentle climate, heavily influenced by the River Tagus (Tejo) running through it. Our estate winery is located in the limestone area north of the river (bairro), near the Tomar city.
Historical Background Founded in the century XII, Tomar was conquered from the Moors by King Afonso Henriques and donated to the Templars, the major drivers of the region to promote agricultural colonization, extending the cultivation areas of the vine.
The vineyard is in this fertile agricultural region for several centuries. The diversity of soil and river resources proved to be excellent natural conditions favorable to the cultivation of the vine.
The vineyards are planted in deep soil origin of schist and clay-limestone, dry surface and rich in water in the transition to the ground.
